Canberra has always had a plan, and now we are putting the challenge to YOU to conceptualise the Canberra of 2040. We are looking for design ideas, business ideas, innovations, sustainability solutions, program proposals and more help to materialise a future of Canberra that is clever, connected and full of creative energy.
With the population in Canberra predicted to accelerate by 2040, we are looking for design ideas and innovations across a range of sectors aimed at making the Canberra of the future a better place to live, work, move, learn and play.
Teams and individuals are invited to submit proposals for a technological or social innovation idea, business idea or policy proposal leveraging research, design, collaboration, and innovation to address our biggest opportunities to grow smarter and perhaps faster or healthier as a city by 2040. Please review Competition Rules before you submit your concept.
Areas of focus for submissions can include (but are not exclusive to): technology, sustainability, architecture, transport, talent and skills attraction, connectivity, health, design and creativity.
Fill out the entry form to go in the running for up to $5,000 in cash. These submissions will be judged by a panel of experts, and awards will be given at the end of the competition. Use this stream if you want to share an idea but are not necessarily interested in being part of the implementations.
Submit to compete for up to $15,000 in cash prizes and support. These submissions will be reviewed by a panel of experts to create a shortlist. Shortlisted teams will be invited to the Canberra Innovation Network on the 26th of April for mentor sessions and rapid workshops to help you turn your submission into a 3-minute pitch to be presented to a judge panel.
